Abstract

This study examines the meanings of the Qur’anic terms “Ummah” – “Qawm” – “Nas” and their impact on shaping the identity consciousness of the Islamic community. The research highlights how the term “Ummah” reinforces religious belonging and collective unity, while “Qawm” contributes to strengthening social and national identity through shared lineage, place, or faith. The term “Nas”, on the other hand, establishes a comprehensive human dimension, emphasizing equality and common rights among all people. The study also explores the Qur’anic contexts of each term, demonstrating their role in forming both collective and individual awareness, linking specific group belonging to the general identity of the community. The findings show that these terms are not merely linguistic expressions but tools for shaping religious, social, and human identity alike.
