العنف الجسدي ضد الزوجات ــ دراسة جغرافية في محافظة القادسية

Abstract

Violence against women has become a widespread phenomenon in all societies, especially developing ones, with different forms and degrees of violence. Physical violence against the wife by her husband is the most serious in terms of its impact on the family and society. The society of Qadisiyah province is one of the societies where the phenomenon of beating wives by their husbands, with the presence of spatial differences in the rates of the practice of this type of violence due to ,different variables that drives this practice.                                  The research was based on the field study represented by the questionnaire. It concluded that the most important factors of education, the choice of marriage, unemployment, social media, lack of interest, skepticism and lack of satifaction of the standard of living  are the most important factors affecting the practice of violence against wives.          

    The slapping on the face is the most frequent  forms of physical violence practiced in the province, Then comes after (pushing , grasping the hair and severe beatings with hands and legs or with anything else) .
