قراءة في روايات رجاء عالم وفق النقد الثقافي

Abstract

This study offers a reading of Rajaa Alam's novels through the lens of cultural criticism. It examined selected texts from the author's works across three central themes: resistance to social authority, metaphor and symbolism, and writing through the body and feminization of language. The study revealed how Rajaa Alam transforms the Makkah city into a space for testing loyalties and dominance, how she employs symbols and metaphors to open interpretive horizons beyond surface meanings, and how framing the body and feminized language makes the text a space for demanding recognition and reshaping collective memory. The research adopts an interpretive textual reading that connects the narrative structure with the social and cultural context, highlighting marginalized voices and the role of mystical sensibility in expanding the connotations of the text.
