Abstract

This study endeavors to delineate the affections and trace their manifestations in the poetic oeuvre of Yahya Al-Samawi through the lens of the semiotics of passions. The impetus for embarking upon this inquiry stems from a profound desire to navigate the complexities of critical discourse, and a concerted effort to unveil the latent strata of poetic texts, thereby elucidating the emotional (affective) interrelationship between these texts and the semiotics of passions. This is achieved by decoding and animating the enigmatic dimensions of the text. Moreover, the literary opulence of the poetic text, coupled with its pliable and yielding nature that accommodates a multiplicity of semiotic interpretations, cannot be overlooked. These considerations have impelled us to designate our study as: (The Passion of Wrath in the Poetry of Yahya Al-Samawi: A Study in the Light of the Semiotics of Passions) . Through this investigation, we aspire to delve into the memory of the self and its pent-up emotions, enshrined within the palimpsests of poetic expressions, utilizing the most exalted modes of articulation and the most nuanced forms of embodiment.

This study is structured around two principal axes: the first addresses simple anger, while the second examines complex anger. In our analytical endeavor, we have adhered to the semiotic methodology
