Abstract

The present study aims to explore the relationship between the psychological shadow and emotional awareness among university students, identify the level of each variable, and examine the differences in both variables according to gender and academic specialization. The research sample consisted of (250) male and female students from Al-Qadisiyah University for the academic year 2024-2025, selected through stratified random sampling.

Using appropriate statistical methods, the study reached the following results: University students possess a moderate level of psychological shadow and a moderate to high level of emotional awareness. There is a statistically significant negative correlation between psychological shadow and emotional awareness (r=-0.54). There are statistically significant differences in psychological shadow according to gender, in favor of males. There are no significant differences in emotional awareness according to academic specialization.
