Abstract

   Industrial activity is one of the human activities that have the most environmental damage affecting the environment, foremost of which is human health and living organisms such as plants and animals. What the industry has achieved in terms of progress, development and consumption of fossil fuels, as a reflection on the quality of the pollutants resulting from them, so the study came to show the reality of industrial activity in Al-Muthanna Governorate, and the role of regulatory environmental institutions in an attempt to limit industrial activity in environmental pollution, through the application of environmental standards in institutions industrial activities in Al-Muthanna Governorate, monitoring and evaluating compliance with environmental requirements for each type of industrial activity, and activating the role of environmental awareness. Among the incorrect behaviors in the application of environmental requirements, the reason is due to the lack of financial allocations, the weakness in providing environmental assessment tools from the pollutant monitoring agencies, and the weakness in the application of environmental laws.
