Abstract

 The research aimed to know emotional intelligence and the correlation with social interaction and social intelligence among female students of the College of Education. In order to achieve the goals, the researcher chose a purposive sample of female students from the College of Education, Al-Qadisiyah University, and the sample amounted to (360) students. The researcher also built an emotional intelligence scale that consisted of In its final form, it consisted of (30) items, and the social interaction scale was constructed, which consisted of (30) items. The researcher extracted the characteristics of validity and reliability for both scales. After using appropriate statistical methods, the researcher found that the students of the College of Education have a level of, which indicates that the members of the research sample are characterized by a good level of social interaction. As in Table (4), it became clear that there is a positive correlation between the two variables, and Table (6) shows this. The researcher concluded the current research with a set of conclusions, recommendations and proposals.

- Strengthening interaction between students through cultural activities, entertainment parties, and scientific visits to different regions.

2- Educating students through lessons or guidance that the level of emotional intelligence is appropriate to the students’ abilities. Because a high level of emotional intelligence without the ability affects mental health.

3- Trying to encourage female students to increase social interaction in a way that suits the traditions of our society through various scientific activities. Or through guidance (especially since at this stage they are preparing to receive a new life after graduation, which requires the individual to have multiple social relationships.

4- Benefiting from guidance sessions to raise awareness among students in the scientific and humanities departments about the importance of balancing between them.

The researcher suggests conducting the following studies:

  1. The relationship of social interaction to other variables... internal and external control, parental treatment methods, socialization methods, shyness, and self-confidence.
  2. The relationship of emotional intelligence to other variables... internal and external control, parental treatment methods, socialization methods, shyness, and self-confidence.
  3. Conduct a similar study on preparatory and middle school students.
  4. A comparative study on the level of social interaction between students according to the specialization variable.
  5. The relationship of emotional intelligence to mental health.
  6. The effect of an educational program on developing social interaction among female university students.
