Abstract

This research aims to examine the experience of emotional deprivation in the poetry of Nasib bin Rabah, the poet who lived in the Umayyad era. Congenital and social factors helped embody the phenomenon of deprivation in the psyche and poetry of Nasib, as the poet suffered from the harassment, humiliation and contempt of society, in addition to the coldness of women and their rejection of him because of his black skin color, which made his emotional life full of challenges, repression, deprivation and emotional suppression. The contents of this study revolved around two topics, the first of which was responsible for studying the motives of emotional deprivation, and the second included the manifestations of deprivation in Nasib's poetry. Thus, the texts of this study revealed the concept of deprivation, its motives and manifestations in Nasib's life and poetry.
