Abstract

The research problem lies in the following questions.

 What is the nature of the correlation between Competence Motivation and Intellectual Humility among university students? and Does this relationship differ according to gender (males - females), and specialization (scientific - humanitarian)?

 Therefore, the current research aims to identify:

1- Competence Motivation among university students.

2- Intellectual Humility among university students.

• The correlation between Competence Motivation and Intellectual Humility among university students.
• The difference in the correlation between Competence Motivation and Intellectual Humility among university students according to a variable gender (males - females) specialization (scientific – humanitarian).

      For the purpose of verifying this, it was relied on The descriptive curriculum to correlation, and the Competence Motivation scale prepared by Saddam (2022), and the building is according to the theory of Competence Motivation of Harter (1978), which includes (36) items, as well as the Intellectual Humility scale prepared by Alkelabi (2022) was used, and the building is according to the theory of Virtue Knowledge of Ern est (1980), which includes (34) items, and the two scales were applied to a sample of (400) male and female students chosen by the random cluster method, and the research results showed that:

1- That University students have a level of the Competence Motivation, as well as a the Intellectual Humility, they also have a level of positive connotation.

• The relationship between Competence Motivation and Intellectual Humility is significant among university students.
• The differences in the relationship between Competence Motivation and Intellectual Humility are not indicative of the level of university students according to gender (males and females), and specialization (scientific - humanitarian).
