Abstract

      The researcher shed light on the relationship of the authority of Najaf Al-Ashraf with the ruling authority in Iraq, especially since Iraq witnessed a historical turning point in the path of the political system from the monarchy to the republic. What the stage was spending, and scholars emerged who took it upon themselves to defend the interests of the Iraqi people, the researcher focused on the role of Mr. Mohsen al-Hakim and the nature of his relations with the ruling authority during the historical era (1958-1960).

The research includes an introduction, two axes, and a conclusion, as the introduction shows the general framework of the research and clarifies the important and articulated role of the religious authority in Najaf and its impact on the performance of the ruling authority in Iraq through their great influence

 on public opinion in Iraq and abroad. The important and effective entity throughout Iraq's political history. The second axis dealt with the positions of the Najaf reference point towards the new republican regime in Iraq, and Mr. Mohsin al-Hakim's standing against the communist tide and its domination over the necks of Iraqis.
